Bucs’ Desmond Watson, NFL’s Heaviest Player, Placed on Non-Football Injury List

Desmond Watson’s journey to secure a spot on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is off to a delayed start. Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles announced that the heaviest player in NFL history has been placed on the non-football injury list due to concerns about his weight and is currently listed as day to day.

“It’s just about trying to get him better, to be a healthier player and getting him on the field a little more,” Bowles stated on Wednesday. haha777 “That’s kind of where I’m at right now. He’s working at it and we’re working with him. That’s all you can ask for right now.”

Watson, who played at the University of Florida, was signed by the Buccaneers after going undrafted in April. At the school’s pro day, he weighed in at 464 pounds, but has managed to lose between 25 to 30 pounds prior to the draft.

“I don’t have a timetable on what we can get him down to or when that will happen,” Bowles commented nagakh. “He’s from Armwood, he went to Florida, so he’s used to the heat acop form 2023. That’s not a big factor in it. We’ve just got to see what happens.”
